The shrimp were again tender, sweet and not overcooked as well as plentiful. The broth was full flavored but with a hint of vinegar and not heat. The hot and sour soup with hot only in temperature. The jalapeno was very mild but it was good for a hot day. The vermicelli soup came chicken and was a simple miso soup with thin slices of juicy very flavorful chicken. The peanut and sliced garlic topping were pleasant additions to the salad. The shrimp on the plate were excellent, chilled, moist and full of fresh flavor. The lime was there but barely noticeable, and no chilies were to be seen. The papaya was julienned nicely but lacked any bite from either chili or lime juice. The papaya salad arrived shortly and the tone was set. We ordered a papaya salad with shrimp to start and then a hot and sour soup and vermicelli soup, with a mango smoothie to add some sweetness. A young man took our order and was friendly and ready to help. It was shortly apparent that the place was a family run place with grandpa busing tables and delivering food and keeping an eye out, and grandma taking orders and making sure things were running smoothly. On our visit early one Saturday evening, we were quickly able to locate a table. There are several tables for two and four people. The place is painted in the Orange and yellow the colors of the flag of Vietnam. This place is in a small strip mall with a supermarket and a theater and has been open for only a few months. It is great to have a Pho shop near to home.
